Congratulations to all performers at the Spring Showcase Concert

20th March 2024

Congratulations to all performers at the Spring Showcase Concert. A wonderful amount of £223.26 has been raised for the Music Department! Thank you to all staff and parents who supported this event. Miss Milton really appreciates it.

St Augustine’s Pop Choir and Band played a variety of pieces from Coldplay, Rihanna, to ‘A Star is Born’. This included lead guitarist, Finley, lead vocalist Alijah, rhythm guitar Matthew, piano Tiggy and vocals Jessica, Iris-Aurora, Niamh and Skye. Pop Choir: Natasha, Esme, Elsie, Hanna, Sreya, Mia, Christeena, Evie, Chloe, Wiktor, Brandon, Bianka, Gracie, Aurora, Maria, Abigail, Shayini, Jessica, Weronika, and Skye.

A massive thank you to Mr Meade (Bass Guitar) and Mr Jones (Drums) who continually rehearse every Monday lunchtime for Band.

We had solo vocal performances from Evie, Iris-Aurora, Skye, and Jessica. As well as instrumental solos from Jessica, Michael, and Shayam. St Augustine’s Orchestra performed In The Hall of the Mountain King from Peer Gynt Suite. The strings were positively supported by Mrs Kaye (violin), Mr Edwards (cello) and Mrs Furnell (double bass), as well as Miss Milton playing the flute. Well done to Tiggy who performed on the piano with determination throughout the event!

The second half started off with the dance group featuring Iris-Aurora, Maria, Evie, Weronika, Jessica, Skye and Natasha (led by Mrs Blades).

A special shout out to Shayini and Shayam for their beautiful rendition of ‘Fly Me To the Moon’. Your sound blended so beautifully and resonated well with the audience.

The progress and talent demonstrated from you all is outstanding. The confidence, resilience, and determination you all showed in preparing and performing at this concert is remarkable. You should be all proud of your achievements.

Thank you to The Headland Festival for providing and managing the technology for the event. Jake and Ethan, you are sound engineers/ stage managers in the making. Keep up the amazing work!

Miss Milton is looking forward to the next event in the Summer!
