Our approach to the Geography Curriculum
We aim to motivate pupils by offering a high quality, broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum for all. Throughout the units there are opportunities for pupils to make geographical decisions, assess and evaluate different geographical issues and to think like geographers. In addition, we seek to encourage our students to study like geographers by developing an investigative approach to questions and hypotheses through the use of fieldwork.
Key Stage 3
The Geography curriculum has been designed to meet the needs of the National Curriculum and covers a wide range of human, physical and environmental topics. In Years 7 to 9 students will study Development, Coasts, Tectonic Hazards and Russia to name a few.
Key Stage 4
Students complete the AQA GCSE Geography course of study. This comprises of three written examinations, one of which is based on applying practical knowledge and understanding gained during a local fieldwork trip
